Brendan McGrath
Brendan McGrathGeneral Manager
Brendan joined Star BMS in 2022 following a 10 year tenure in Education. His multidisciplinary approach, fueled by expertise in Marketing/Psychology and High Performance Sport, underpins his dynamic leadership, focusing on people, consulting, analysis, and stakeholder management. Brendan has coached Queensland and Australia in Rowing and is an Australian Sports Commission Coaching Assessor who works alongside community volunteers in further developing skills and best practice.
James Grant
James GrantFacilities Manager
James has a wealth of knowledge in building management from his years of experience in the hotel and tourism industry. He is a certified Fire Safety Advisor (FSA) managing fit outs, building renovations and building inspections. He has also been a Caretaker across a large portfolio of mixed use buildings in South Brisbane. In addition to this, James has previously worked on Moreton Island for 9 years as a resort engineer. James is results-driven and a natural problem solver. He brings with him a great skill set, extensive knowledge and a real passion for delivering 5-star service.
Chris Nezmah
Chris NezmahBuilding Management Consultant
Chris is a Brisbane native with 27 years of experience in facilities management, eight of which have been with Star BMS as a Building Management Consultant. He has held executive and consulting positions within property management groups as well as direct operational roles in a variety of strata buildings in Australia and overseas. Chris’ experience extends to producing specialised building reports for bodies corporate and he possesses a broad range of operational skills.
Douglas Whitmore
Douglas WhitmoreFacility Manager/Building Management Consultant
Douglas has great experience in facilities management for both commercial, industrial, and retail properties across Brisbane, Sydney and London, with recent experience at CBRE over the last 10 years, which included roles as a Facilities Analyst, Facilities Coordinator, and Facilities Manager. Further to this, Douglas has worked at QIC and Ernst & Young in similar corporate facilities management roles during his career. With this experience in corporate and commercial facilities management, coupled with Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety qualifications, he also brings a lot of value to the Safety and Compliance space and our consulting opportunities.

Our Fees

At Star BMS, our facility managers undertake a wide variety of tasks with the ultimate goal of securing your asset’s value. A number of these tasks are outlined in our scope of works within our contracts and agreements. There are however tasks that fall outside of this scope, which may have additional fees against them. Our fee structure below is used as an addendum and guiding document to our contracts and agreements.
